A report by the National Library of Medicine states that rice does not increase obesity because the amount of calories in it is very small. A cup of rice also contains almost the same number of calories as a medium-sized roti.

What the research says

The research report said that even if the consumption of one cup of rice were to increase, then the global obesity rate could increase by only one percent. This is because eating rice makes you feel full because of the nutrients present in rice, such as fiber, nutrients and plant compounds, and this can prevent overeating, which can help prevent weight gain.

Rice is low in fat

Rice is often believed to increase body fat. While this study found that rice is also low in fat and can also control blood glucose levels. This reduces the secretion of insulin. This is also the main reason why you are not gaining weight.

Brown rice is more beneficial than white rice

There are mainly two types of rice, white rice and brown rice. Speaking of nutrition, about 186 grams of white cooked rice contains 242 kcal, 4.43 grams of protein, 0.39 grams of fat, 53.2 grams of carbohydrates and 0.56 grams of fiber. In addition, it also contains vitamins and minerals.

Cooked brown rice contains 248 kcal, 5.54 g of protein, 2 g of fat, 51 g of carbohydrates, 3.2 g of fiber, folic acid, iron and other vitamins and minerals.

Rice is a high carbohydrate and starchy food, people who eat a lot of rice are also very less likely to gain weight. However, eating brown rice is more beneficial.

Rice also helps in weight loss

Eating rice can also help reduce weight, but it is very important to remember that the type of rice is healthy. Eating less processed rice can be beneficial.

In addition, it is important that the rice is properly cooked. Eating cooked and starchy rice also helps in weight loss. While their encounter with high fat content can be a factor in weight gain.
