Naratri (Navratri 2022) has started and everyone will see you fasting for 9 days. The fasting of Naratri (Navratri vrat 2022) lasts 9 days with a lot of eating and ruling religion. In this case, we feel that if we keep fasting, then it will be healthy, but if we are not careful during fasting, the most unhealthy snack will happen. Because of this, these people may have problems, they have diabetes or blood pressure problems.


Fasting days can be a little risky for those with blood sugar issues. Because a lot of times we don’t pay attention to what we’re eating. We think fasting will be healthy.

But we think it is different because our daily life during fasting is different from every day. Our diet has changed. We often don’t eat anything before the morning puja. All of these can have a major impact on blood sugar levels.

So let us know how to control blood sugar during fasting.

Eat something every two or three hours

During fasting, we often think that it will work even if we don’t eat anything during the day. But it can cause your blood sugar levels to fluctuate, so you may feel weak or tired. We think that if there is fasting, we should eat less, but don’t think like that, but keep eating something healthy every 2-3 hours, in small amounts.


Sometimes a handful of makhana, sometimes a handful of nuts, a fruit or a tofu banana. Because of this, you won’t feel heavy and your blood sugar will be controlled.

Don’t dehydrate your body

Lack of water in the body can cause problems, so avoid dehydration during fasting. Not only does this affect blood sugar levels, it also affects the kidneys. In this case, keep drinking tea, milk, coconut water. Don’t drink too much tea or it can cause problems.

Eat foods with a low glycemic index

Include leafy greens, salads, ragi, jowar and other foods in your diet. All of these things have a low glycemic index. This means that these foods dissolve slowly in the body without causing a sudden spike in blood sugar. Therefore, including them in your diet is the right way.

Is fasting safe for people with diabetes?

Yes, in some cases, but it depends on your overall health. Ultimately, fasting or not is a personal decision. If you decide to fast, you should see your doctor and get the right advice.
