Diabetes is a lifestyle disorder. In doing so, it is advised to take special care of the food. If your lifestyle is already unhealthy and you are now at risk of diabetes, then you need to pay immediate attention to your lifestyle and diet. At the same time, you need to switch to those herbs that can control your risk of type 2 diabetes. Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea are just 3 healthy options that can help control your blood sugar levels (Effect of Tea on Type 2 Diabetes). Find out what this study says about tea and diabetes.

To adopt a healthy lifestyle, start with morning tea first. If you drink tea with milk and sugar, switch to green tea, black tea or oolong tea. That’s because, according to a new study, these 3 teas may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

A new study has found that certain types of tea can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Yes… Black tea, green tea and oolong tea can reduce the risk of diabetes.

What this study says about diabetes and tea

According to new research, drinking at least four cups of any of these teas a day can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 17%. Its effect can last for about 10 years. The research will be presented this week at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes in Stockholm.

Xiying Li, a graduate student at Wuhan University of Science and Technology in China, said: “There have been many studies in the past on tea drinking and the risk of type 2 diabetes. But we have not been able to get any accurate results from this.”

“Our study showed that the association between tea and type 2 diabetes depends on the amount of tea consumed,” Lee said. Only the right amount of tea can show real results. Based on our findings, I would advise the public to consume more of these teas in their daily lives, if appropriate.”

Find out what the study found

The researchers first studied 5,199 adults with no history of type 2 diabetes. All of these people participated in the Chinese Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. It was received in 1997 and displayed until 2009. At the start of the study, participants provided information on lifestyle factors such as eating habits, exercise, smoking and drinking habits.

In the study, it was observed that people who consumed black tea, green tea and oolong tea had a lower risk of type 2 diabetes. It was also seen how many times a day they drank tea.

What did the researchers conclude?

The authors caution that their research does not prove that drinking tea reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, but they suggest that drinking tea likely contributes. He also said that in addition to drinking tea, the risk of diabetes depends on many other lifestyle factors.

Lee said in the newsletter that more research is needed to determine how black tea, green tea and oolong tea may affect the risk of type 2 diabetes.

“Special ingredients in tea, such as polyphenols, can reduce blood glucose concentration by inhibiting glucosidase activity, but a sufficient amount of the bioactive substance is required to be effective,” Lee said.

Therefore, in addition to drinking these three teas, the risk of type 2 diabetes can be reduced by exercising regularly, eating enough fruits, vegetables and grains, and controlling sugar intake.
