But over the years, there has been such a notion about yoga that many people shy away from its practice and remain deprived of its vital benefits. 1. Doing yoga requires body flexibility

There is absolutely no need to make your body flexible to do yoga. Everyone’s body has its own flexibility. Yoga practice will enhance it over time. Yoga is a combination of strength, balance, flexibility and focus. So don’t have the illusion that your body needs to be flexible to do yoga.

2. Only thin people can do yoga

This is nothing more than a myth. It is not necessary that only skinny people can practice yoga. Yoga does not depend on body shape and weight anywhere.

There are some yoga poses that are difficult to do with body weight. But there are different types of yoga poses that obese people can also practice. On the other hand, by doing yoga regularly, the body gradually becomes flexible, and then you can try to practice other yoga poses.

3. Asthma patients should not practice yoga

It is a huge misconception that people with asthma cannot practice yoga. If a person has asthma, they must practice yoga. Pranayama, meditation, breathing exercises, etc. increase the oxygen levels in the body. So, it can be seen that their condition has improved. Regular yoga practice can reduce medication doses in people with asthma. So avoid getting caught up in such notions.

4. Yoga is only for the young

The concept has been going on for many years that only young people can practice yoga. But this is a big myth. Yoga practice has nothing to do with your gender age and body shape. Yoga just requires meditation and focus.

If an older person devotes himself to practicing yoga, he will definitely benefit a lot. Although, some yoga poses may be difficult to do after one year of age, there are many yoga poses that can be practiced even in old age.

5. Only women can do yoga

For years, the notion that only women can practice yoga has been in people’s minds. But that doesn’t mean anyone who wants to keep fit can practice yoga. Yoga is gender neutral in any way. Meanwhile, many men are yoga gurus. Don’t mistakenly deprive yoga of its benefits because of these illusions.
