Your diet and lifestyle increase the amount of uric acid in the body. Increased uric acid in the body can lead to many health risks. Consuming purine-rich foods causes the body to produce uric acid. To avoid all these health problems, it is necessary to take precautions. Experts share important facts about this.

First, know what uric acid is

Uric acid is a waste product found in the blood. Which is produced when there is a chemical breakdown in the body called purines. Purines are present in a number of foods, the consumption of which can cause the production of uric acid. If an excessive amount of uric acid accumulates in the body, this condition is called hyperuricemia.

If uric acid accumulates for a long time, it can cause bone, joint and tissue damage. Along with this, it also increases the chances of kidney and heart diseases. Not only this, uric acid can cause problems like diabetes, high blood pressure and fatty liver.

Remember these 6 things to control uric acid

1. Drink enough water

To control the rising uric acid level in the body, it is important to drink enough water. It helps the kidneys to remove extra uric acid from the body. Always carry a water bottle with you and drink water from time to time. The more water you drink, the more often you will have to go to the bathroom. It helps you flush out uric acid.

2. Do not drink alcohol

Consuming alcohol is the cause of your dehydration. According to a study published by the National Library of Medicine, it increases the level of uric acid. Certain types of alcohol, such as beer, are high in purines. At the same time, alcohol with low amounts of purines also increases the production of furin in the body. Alcohol increases the rate at which uric acid is produced in the body, due to which the amount of uric acid in the blood can increase.

3. Limit your intake of purine-rich foods

By making some important changes in your diet, you can stop the production of uric acid. For example, purine-rich foods stimulate the production of uric acid in the body. If the amount of uric acid is high, immediately limit your intake of foods such as red meat, organ meats, fish, shellfish, eggs and chicken.

4. Limit the amount of sugar

Fructose, a natural sugar found in honey and fruit, breaks down in the body to release purines. It increases the level of uric acid in the body. At the same time, our regular diet contains many such foods in which natural sugar is found.

Along with this, try to avoid sugar laden trains as much as possible. The fructose in drinks reacts faster to the body than the fructose in other foods. Because fiber, protein and other nutrients are not found in beverages. At the same time, if the research is to be believed, this sugar enters the body and triggers blood sugar levels quickly. It also increases the level of uric acid.

5. Maintain the amount of fiber in the body

Adequate fiber intake can help reduce uric acid. Along with this, foods rich in fiber also maintain the blood sugar level and insulin balance in the body. By consuming fiber-rich foods, you will be satisfied for a long time, which is why there is no problem with overeating.

However, most people consume fiber in the form of food. In this case, include fiber-rich superfoods such as sev, broccoli, spinach, quinoa, nuts and brown rice in your diet.

6. Foods rich in vitamin C are essential

According to a study published by PubMed Central, uric acid levels are controlled by having enough vitamin C in the body. Foods such as oranges, kiwi, strawberries, red and green apples, broccoli and tomatoes are good sources of vitamin C. Include these in your diet.
