Health Shots spoke with Dr. Vinay Singh, Senior Consultant Dermatologist, Paras Hospital Gurugram. He said some important things about skin care, so let’s know how you can keep your skin healthy.

1. Use sunscreen with SPF

According to the doctor, it is very important to apply sunscreen to the skin. Direct exposure to the sun’s harmful rays can lead to skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots and many other skin problems.

She adds: “Even if you’re staying indoors or working from home, don’t forget to slather on sunscreen. Blue light emitted from computer screens and mobile devices also damages your skin. In this case, apply sunscreen with a high SPF mineral base on your face. It keeps your skin healthy.

2. Take care of gut health

According to the doctor, healthy digestion is an effective treatment for all skin-related problems. For glowing and beautiful skin, focus on gut health first and foremost. Follow a proper diet and drink plenty of water.

Anything unhealthy for your digestive system can cause oxidative stress and inflammation. It affects not only your intestines, but also other parts of the body.

3. Stay hydrated

Dermatologist Dr. Vinay Singh recommended drinking enough water to maintain skin health. It is said that “keeping the body hydrated keeps the skin hydrated and healthy.” Along with this comes a natural glow to your skin. Drink at least 8 glasses of water during the day.

4. Avoid smoking

According to dermatologists, signs of premature aging such as wrinkles begin to appear on the skin due to smoking. Smoking shrinks the blood vessels in the top layer of the skin, which reduces blood flow and makes the skin look lifeless. So try to avoid smoking altogether.

5. Stay away from stress

If you are mentally balanced, then according to the doctor, your skin itself looks radiant and beautiful. Stress creates a type of chemical in the body that makes the skin very sensitive and reactive.

Because of this, the skin is unable to heal problems such as acne, pimples, pigmentation, etc. The hormone cortisol released during stress increases sebum production in the skin. Meanwhile, your oily skin can cause various skin-related problems.
