Physical activity is good for any child’s health. Their inactivity can also be detrimental to their health if they spend most of their time near a phone or TV screen instead of being active. Studies have shown that spending too much time watching TV, playing video games, using computers, riding a motor vehicle, etc. is associated with poor physical fitness, weight gain and an increased risk of serious disease later in life. That’s why it’s important as a parent to know how to limit your kids’ screen time.

If your child spends a lot of time on screens, it can be difficult to get into the habit of linking their free time to some physical activity at first. If they start exercising, then they will gradually develop this good habit.

Tips for limiting your child’s screen time:

1. Make room for events

Does your living area have enough space for your kids to run? Exercise is not possible unless there is a safe place. Find a place around the living room, playroom, or kitchen where you can isolate your child. Remove any items from the area that could damage or harm children.

3. Limit screen time

Parents should limit their children’s screen time (TV, computer and video games). They should be allowed to watch for up to two hours a day. Don’t put the TV in your child’s bedroom. Don’t watch TV during dinner. To limit the use of technology, turn off computers and other devices in the living room under your supervision.

4. Be a good example

Your kids will want to follow in your footsteps. So take them little by little. Make sure your parenting behavior is proactive. Your actions and actions will help them follow healthy activities throughout their lives. Get your child active and you will prioritize it yourself.

5. Let them try

Some parents force their children to participate in sports and activities that they do not want to participate in. Maybe not every kid likes football or dancing! If they want to try something new, let them try it. They might like yoga or fencing. This will keep them active.

6. Find an alternative to activation

Instead of playing a typical video game, ask to try something new, like skateboarding and roller skating. If you have pets in your home, ask for a walk with them. Gardening can also be exercise. Children can also dance at home on rainy days.

7. Let’s try something different

Your child may also dislike certain physical activities that can be considered good. In addition to exercising, encourage her to do exercises that she creates and enjoys doing.
