Cases have been reported in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. One person died in Washington from a blood infection after using eye drops. All three people who lost their sight were reported from California and New Jersey.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa causes damage
It was found that 55 patients were infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is a type of bacteria that acts as resistant to most antibiotics. On the other hand, the problem of respiratory infection was observed in some, and urinary tract infection in some. In addition, one person died due to the bacteria entering the bloodstream.

About 85% of people used a certain brand of preservative-free eye drops.
