Acidic food effect on the skin can be caused by some people. Tell us what Ayurveda says about this.
To know why acidic foods can increase acne, we spoke to Ayurveda expert Dr. Neetu Bhatt.
Acid juice is more in acidic food
Dr. Neetu Bhatt says, according to Ayurveda, our body is of 3 types – Vata dosha, Pitta dosha and Kapha dosha.
Fire and water control the hormones and enzymes produced in our body. Bile is found in the stomach and small intestine. This pitta controls body temperature and digestive fire. If pitta remains in a balanced state, the person’s health is good.
Due to pitta imbalance, the digestive fire begins to weaken and problems with indigestion, constipation, acidity begin to arise. Sour, spicy, salty, spicy food increases the problem of pitta.
According to Dr. Neetu contains acidic foods more acid juice which aggravates pitta dosha. Problems with the digestive system occur due to pitta dosha. Because of this, acne or pimples appear.
Acidic juices affect the digestive system
Acidic acid-forming foods, if consumed in excess, can make your body more vulnerable to several skin conditions, including acne and pimples.
The reason for this is that the remaining traces of acid affect the health of the intestines. Because of this, the nutrients you eat are not digested properly.
Curd can also be acidic and can aggravate pitta dosha. In addition to yogurt, milk products such as High-fat milk, cheese and ice cream also trigger acne.
The casein in dairy products can act to activate the sebaceous glands, which can increase the problem of acne and pimples.
Consume citrus fruits in a balanced amount
Vikas Chawla, Ayurveda expert at Vedas Cure, says, “The consumption of citrus fruits does not cause the problem of acne and pimples. Vitamin C is present in citrus fruits, which increases the immunity of the body.
If we consume more citrus fruits, there is a possibility of increased skin inflammation. This can cause problems such as skin irritation, pimples or acne. Dr. Vikas further explains, Citrus fruits are beneficial, but to avoid pimples they should be consumed in balanced quantity. Orange, grapefruit and lemon are good choices among these fruits. Nutrients like vitamin C and zinc are present in abundance in all these fruits which make your skin healthy from within.
Apart from these, vitamin E serum can also be used. But before using the serum, it is necessary to take the doctor’s advice.
