When you breathe, many types of viruses, dust, allergens and other things enter the body through mucus. But in some cases, the body begins to produce mucus in large quantities. Therefore, it becomes very important to control it and keep the throat clean.

1. Stay hydrated

Try to drink enough water and keep your body as hydrated as possible. It helps maintain the flow of mucus. Along with this, it will also be beneficial to take hot drinks but avoid caffeinated drinks.

Try to avoid dehydrating drinks like too much coffee, alcohol and some types of tea as much as you can.

2. Gargle with lukewarm salt water

It has been known for years as an effective home remedy to get rid of throat problems. Gargling with warm water and salt helps reduce the accumulated mucus. Along with this, it also eliminates the germs and bacteria that cause mucus and throat infection.

3. Keep away from dust, dirt, smoke and chemicals

Dust, dirt, smoke and chemicals irritate the mucous membrane, which stimulates the body to produce more and more mucus. In such a situation, don’t forget to cover your mouth with a mask before leaving it in dust and dirt.

4. Do not smoke

The problem of phlegm increases due to causes like asthma and cough. On the other hand, smoking worsens asthma and cough. Not only this, regular smoking causes phlegm to accumulate in the throat and lungs. If you want to keep your throat clear, stop smoking immediately.

5. Use Eucalyptus

If the problem with mucus increases day by day, eucalyptus balm and essential oil can be beneficial. At the same time, the scent of eucalyptus helps reduce mucus accumulated in the chest. For best results, massage the chest and neck with drops of eucalyptus oil.
