what is research
The study was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, a journal of Oxford University. According to this study, women who use hair straighteners and many other hair products on their hair have a higher risk of developing uterine cancer. This study was conducted by a team consisting of Che-Jung Chang, KT M O’Brien, Alexander P Keel, Chandra L Jackson, etc. This study was also approved by the US National Institutes of Health.
Hair products may contain chemicals with carcinogenic properties
Several previous studies have shown that hair products may contain dangerous chemicals with carcinogenic properties. Their use increases the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and hormonal imbalance. So far, the effects of hair products on uterine cancer have not been studied. A recent study examined the relationship of these products to uterine cancer. Based on this research, it was found that hair straighteners and other hair products increase the risk of uterine cancer (hair straighteners cause cancer).
33,947 women aged 35-74 were included in the research. A questionnaire was prepared. Participants were asked questions based on the number of hair products they had used in the past 12 months. Of these, 378 women were victims of uterine cancer, who also used some other hair products including straightening their hair 4 times in 12 months.
In addition, it was found that women who reduced physical activity and used irons for a year had a higher risk of uterine cancer than women who did more physical activity and used irons.
However, the conclusion of the study also emphasized that more research is needed in this direction.
