In November 2021, Sabyasachi Mukherjee had launched his Autumn Winter 2021 fine jewellery collection. However, it had received trolling as models in the ad starred into the camera with sad faces.
When Sabyasachi had launched his Fine Jewellery series, he had received a lot of backlash for putting models in an intimate position with a semi-naked look featuring the Royal Bengal 'mangalsutra'.
In 2018, Sabyasachi Mukherjee faced a lot of heat for his statement at a Harvard Conference. He had said, "If you tell me that you do not know how to wear a saree, I would say shame on you."
Sabyasachi Mukherjee had collaborated with the international clothing brand, HandM in August 2021. However, the designer was badly trolled for its designs, which older women mostly wore.
At Harvard India in 2018, Sabyasachi had made hurtful remarks on women's body type and was trolled. He had said, "I've become tired of gaunt faces and stick-thin models. I'm obsessed by boobs!"
In 2019, Sabyasachi was trolled for his hurtful IG post that reads "If you see a woman overdressed, caked with makeup, armoured with jewellery, it is most likely that she is wounded. Bleeding inside."
A Sabyasachi campaign featured a semi-naked man wearing only white trunks, kundan jewellery and a black clutch. Netizens had raised eyebrows and stated it as 'disgusting' and 'gross'.
