In 1980, Rajinikanth was busy shooting for Thillu Mullu when Latha had requested him for an interview. The moment he had met her, Rajinikanth had fallen in love with her at love at first sight.
As the interview progressed, Rajinikanth had experienced some feelings that he had never experienced before. Thus, Rajinikanth had decided to tell Latha about his pure feelings for her in his heart.
Rajinikanth was sure that he wanted to marry Latha Rangachari, so he put forward his marriage proposal to her. Hearing this, she had said to him that she would discuss this with her parents first.
Rajinikanth and Lata Rangachari had one thing in common that helped them connect. Rajini was earlier employed in Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor, and Latha's house was in the same area.
Since the beginning, Rajinikanth has been a humble and modest person, which was one reason why Latha Rangachari was impressed with him. Soon her fondness for him had changed into love.
After waiting for some time and having their parents' consent, the lovebirds got hitched in a traditional South Indian style wedding at the famous Lord Balaji temple in Tirupati on February 26, 1981.
The couple were blessed with their first daughter, Aishwarya, in 1982. Then they had a second daughter in 1984 whom they had lovingly named Soundarya.
In 1991, Latha had founded a charitable school in Chennai to provide education to underprivileged children. The evergreen couple still knows the importance of fulfilling each other's dreams.
