Difference between IVF and surrogacy

In IVF the eggs of a a woman are fertilised with the sperm of her male partner in a small dish at a laboratory. In surrogacy, it is another woman who carries the child for the couple, wanting a child.

Sohail Khan and Seema Khan

Sohail Khan and his wife, Seema had suffered from secondary infertility. Though they had their elder son, Nirvaan, the duo had opted for IVF and welcomed their younger son, Yohan in 2011.

Tusshar Kapoor

In 2016, Tusshar Kapoor had paved the way for all the single fathers, who want to embrace motherhood. He had welcomed his first child, Laksshya via surrogacy.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

Choreographer and director, Farah Khan and her husband, Sirish Kunder had welcomed triplets Anya, Diva and Czar in 2008. Farah had embraced motherhood at 43 through IVF treatment.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao

After facing struggles with conception and going through a miscarriage, Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan had welcomed a baby boy through surrogacy. They had become parents to Azad Rao Khan in 2011.

Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber

Sunny and her her husband, Daniel have been quite vocal about their fertility issues. The duo had adopted a girl, Nisha and opted for surrogacy to welcome their sons, Noah and Asher in 2018.

Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek

After dating for nine years, the duo tied the knot in 2013. In 2017, they welcomed their twin sons, Rayaan and Krishaang through surrogacy.

Ekta Kapoor

After going though a 7-year-long journey with multiple unsuccessful IUI and IVF attempts, Ekta had finally opted for surrogacy. Ekta had welcomed her son, Ravie Kapoor in 2019.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan

Despite being parents to Aryan and Suhana, Shah Rukh and Gauri had decided to opt for surrogacy to welcome their baby boy. In 2013, the became parents to their younger son, AbRam.

Karan Johar's kids, Yash and Roohi

Karan Johar embraced fatherhood at the age of 45. In 2017, Bollywood's director-producer welcomed his twins, Yash and Roohi. In several interviews, he has thanked the modern science of surrogacy.

Shreyas Talpade and Deepti

After a marital life of 14 years, the duo had decided to opt for surrogacy to welcome their little bindle of joy. They were blessed with their daughter, Aadya in 2018.
