Using lubricants in your hair is trending on social media these days. Many girls use lube on your hair to give it a wet look or to keep the wave. But is it right? Can it cause any risk to hair? If so, what should be the proper and natural way of hair care? Let’s talk about it today.
You must be wondering what hair lubricants are. Actually, the word lubricant is used for grease. This is a product that makes hair shiny and manageable. Many people have dry hair or very curly hair. Those that are difficult to manage or style. Lubricant is a product that may contain gel, glycerin, silicone, or other products that make hair soft and shiny.
Many girls like to style with the ‘wet hair look’. Therefore, they use hair styling gels or lubricants.
Are they safe for hair?
Using lubricants can be dangerous. Because they may contain harmful ingredients such as parabens. There are many types of hair styling products used these days, such as gels, mousses, sprays and creams. They are used to hold the hair in place, to soften or thicken the hair.
Styling products tend to stick to the hair and scalp, causing the chemicals in the product to dry out the hair. This can also lead to scalp scabs or clogged pores. This makes the hair dry and lifeless. If you have dandruff, avoid using gels and similar hair products.
After styling your hair, clean it like this
To remove excess gel or styling product from your hair, use a mild herbal shampoo, conditioner or hair serum, a plastic shower cap, towels, and a large, wide-tooth comb. First, wash your hair with a very small amount of shampoo. Dilute the shampoo by adding a little water and then apply. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Wash your hair again using less shampoo. If your hair is dry, apply a creamy conditioner after shampooing. Gently massage the hair, apply very little. Leave on for two minutes and wash off with clean water. Wrap your head in a towel and let the water dry. Then comb your hair. To detangle your hair, start from the ends and work your way up. Avoid rubbing your hair.
If the lubricant or hair styling product is a natural product, it may be safe to use. For very curly hair, add a little water to the creamy hair conditioner and pour it into the sprayer. Spray the mixture on your hair. Then comb the hair so that it spreads over the hair. In this way, in dry or wet hair, the hair becomes soft.
